Maintenance & Security

In-Person Therapy is a directory built around one specific promise: every therapist listed offers sessions in person, not just over video. Visitors can search by insurance accepted, specialty, therapeutic approach, license type, and language, and each listing shows whether that therapist is currently accepting new patients. It launched in beta in August 2024 and currently covers the Bay Area, with a waitlist for other regions as it expands.

On the provider side, therapists create their own verified listing, choosing their specialties, the insurance they accept, and whether they’re currently taking new clients. I built the directory on WordPress with GeoDirectory for the listings and search, plus account and invoicing tools so providers can sign up and manage their own profile directly.

I designed and built the site, and I still maintain it: regular software updates, bug fixes, and backups, plus two-step verification on provider and admin accounts. Keeping that maintenance current matters more here than on a typical brochure site: a directory holding therapists’ practice details and fielding patient inquiries needs its login layer to stay solid, not just its listings. It’s ongoing work rather than a single launch.
